Demandware
I would like to quote here Mark Chamberlain from happy with his summary arts: An exciting role has to give Dirk Graber: he has MisterSpex the traditional retail business to be related to the Web and sells glasses and contact lenses online. Dirk put the three areas of custom glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses prior to their specific market opportunities and properties. The relatively high margins of over 70% allow a viable business model, even if the price is fixed for an eyewear manufacturer. The online customer can save up to 50% and has a right of return for custom eyewear. Other objectives are to virtual 3-D glasses and an adaptation of a few years the opening of shops. He reported on experience with Business Angles, financing, and in particular PR and marketing. Stephan Schambach reported his company Demandware and the trend towards e-commerce. In a stagnant market, he sees only in e-commerce an opportunity for further growth. It should eCommerce 5-8x more profitable than other formats and has great impact on other channels. For traditional businesses see Schambach a functioning cross-channel strategy as a main objective. Of course, he sees demand product as an ideal partner and highlights in particular the self-updating Platform, the lower resource requirements and focus on core business shows.
Until the next event in 2009!
